2021-03-24T13:32:17-05:00January 11th, 2021|Uncategorized|

You can view the communications plan for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions for 2021. This contains our email and print plans for the rest of the cycle. You can use the filter options at the top to look at specific audiences, communication types, and more. If you do use the filtering options, please reset the document when you are done so that others can see the full slate of communications. Please keep in mind that OUA communicates about campus wide information, and generally avoids in depth discussion of specific departments or areas of campus. Be sure to select A specific day (“Runs for multiple days” doesn’t show up on our assignment list, which may cause delays in processing). How to Create a Communications Plan

2019-09-09T19:12:51-05:00September 6th, 2019|How-tos|

It is important to make a communication plan. Having all of your messages in one place, with brief descriptions, timelines, and send dates will make planning for the rest of the cycle much easier. These plans will also help you evaluate your message holistically, focus your messaging, and target the right audiences. Think about your audience. What are their needs? What do you need to tell them in order for them to be successful? You can always refer to the suggested key messages for colleges and academic units: unique academics, post-graduate success and rankings, and differentiating experiences. Remember, messaging from OUA [...]

How to Define Your Audience in Slate

2020-09-30T16:38:25-05:00August 26th, 2019|How-tos|

Audience Options As a rule, a college can only send emails to students in that college's interest area. Please note the four audience options for your email communication in Basecamp. Be as specific as possible in your request, avoiding the use of "all" as this doesn't give us enough information (for example, we can't know whether "all admits" means freshmen only or freshmen and transfers, etc.). Current Student Status: Accepted Offer Admitted It is important that units specify admits, accepted students or both in their audience requests. Inquiries Note: We cannot process any college emails to Applicants or Prospects Student Type: [...]

College/Academic Unit Communication Plan Policy

2019-09-10T14:56:16-05:00August 26th, 2019|Policies|

Communication Plan Requirements Each college or academic unit needs to provide their communication plan to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by August 1st. The communication plan should have all of the upcoming cycle's emails, mailings, event invitations, or any other communications projects listed for both the college and any departments under that college. All of these projects should also have a requested send date. These communications plans help coordinate peak send times, balance other projects, and ensure everyone's messages fit together.
